Hessenpark Open Air Museum

About 30 minutes from Frankfurt is Hessenpark a huge open air museum that has over a hundred buildings that were brought in from all over Hesse and restored. A lot of them have different museum exhibitions in them and some of them are restored to the period from which they came from. There is a lot of open area to that is ideal for a casual stroll. Because I changed my itinerary at the last minute I also procrastinated a bit and got there late, I was only able to spend about 4 hours to explore, you need at least twice that amount of time- probably more to see it all properly and not be rushed. It didn’t help I am such a shutter bug, taking 450-500 pictures. So for part one of I don’t know how many – I start with:

Market Square

Here is another blog about the park.

  1. Very cool! I had to look up a few of the words on the buildings to see what they sell!
